Are there any holidays celebrated by trekkies?

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

A Google search turned up little of interest, but I was wondring if there are any traditional holidays or worldwide annual events for Star Trek fans? I’m talking celebrations here, not conventions. Thanks!
EDIT: Could you make sure to read the question before answering it?

Well, I am not finding anything legitimate either, although I did find a spoof on Star Trek holidays at

Little-Known Star Trek Holiday Traditions

and I guess this is for real? or is it also just spoof??? that there was once a Star Trek episode about Santa Claus but it only aired once? See

Is there anything one can do to discourage mosquito bites. This chikungunya virus is very worrying.?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

This virus is reported on the newsboards today and as thousands of people are now moving world-wide (holidays, treks) etc. We should be given some guidelines on how to protect oneself.

See the advice at http://www.drgreene.com/21_36.html

How do outdoor campers & trekkers defecate?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I like to take a trekking holiday to enjoy nature, but since nature is unlikely to have man-made toilets, I wonder how trekkers and adventure holiday-makers defecate? Do they have to carry shovels as part of their camping gear, to dig holes for toilet?

Don’t know if you’ve heard of "Leave No Trace" frontier guidelines, but imagine if EVERY person that walked the trail you are on decided to do his/her business "just once". Stepping in doggy doo is no fun, but stepping in people poo is disturbing and ruins the ride for anyone. If no toilets of any sort are available before the trip and you gotta go, man, by all means pick a strategic spot, environmentally friendly as previous posters mentioned, and bury the loot (and animals do bury their’s – my cat does, for crying out loud). Ideally, bring those little doggy bags. We don’t mind picking up after our dogs and disposing of it properly, for goodness sakes, we should do the same for our own poo, too.

Which of these holidays appeals to you most?

horse trekking vacation?

Monday, January 11th, 2010

have you ever been on a horse riding holiday???? i have just started one up in mexico and i would like to ask …. what was the best things about your trekking holidays, food? horses? trekking? entertainment? what didnt you like……
where you happy or dissapointed???

heres my web site the best horse riding holiday ever.
www.rancholaprovidencia.com

YES!!!

It is sooo much fun!! Of coarse it is spending time with your horse that is the best!! I like the camp food, although there is a restaurant where we go, and a bar you can ride your horse to. Definitely NOT disappointed.

We are going again on the weekend of the 4th. Yee Haaaww!!

By the way- are you from another country? Not used to the word "trekking"?
