I am looking for borderlands treking and biking holidays in Nepal?

February 4th, 2010

based in Kathamandu Nepal

Check out the Langtang Valley, almost directly north of Katmandu. The travel time is much smaller that treks in the Everest region or Annapurna. It is about a 3-4 day hike to the uppermost town in the valley, along a glaciel river. There are tea house and hostels in various spots the whole way up, and a guide is not needed(If you are an experienced hiker). There are numerous trails that actually wind down from Langtan to Katmandu, but we were so beat, we didn’t try any of those.

What are some great walking trails in NSW?

January 30th, 2010

When I go on holidays I love to walk & keep fit, so wondered what scenic walking trails I can do within NSW.
Thanks!

Blue Mountains definately! The Grand Canyon trail in Blackheath is amazing and will work you out. Leura Cascade trails can lead you to 3 different waterfalls. The 6 foot track at Mount Vic can take 3 days to walk and will give a great workout. There are so many bloody trails it can take a lifetime to walk them. In every one of town here… Blue Mountains Best Bushwalks is a good book to find some of the information. News agencies carry it.

I am looking for a two week overnight hiking trip within the United States or Canada, where should I go?

January 30th, 2010

I am an experienced hiker that is looking for a beautiful two week hiking trip. I would prefer trails with little to no facilities as I have my own equipment to sustain me for two weeks.

It will be hard to beat the Appalachian Trail. Join http://whiteblaze.net/ and look around. Careful, the AT is HIGHLY addictive!

Which is the best (honest and cheap) website or travel agent to book a hiking trip in Mount Kinabalu, Sabah?

January 30th, 2010

I’m planning a trip with my 1 of my buddy there sometime end April / early May 2010. Is advance booking required? During this period, is it a raining season? Also, I would like to go on a snorkeling trip after that…which is the best destination nearby there?

To climb Mount Kinabalu, advance booking is necessary. Weather is unpredictable these days, anyway, it’s not raining season that period. Check out this page for more detail on climbing Mount Kinabalu.

The website also provide info about snorkeling in Sabah. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Park which consists of five islands would be just nice for you. Enjoy.

Should I book a tour in Costa Rica or just make the plans myself?

January 30th, 2010

My family (2 adults, 2 young kids) is considering a vacation in Costa Rica. The rainforest is calling out to us — and maybe the Pacific coast too. We’d like to hike in the forest, try a zip line, a canopy tour, see some waterfalls, monkeys, butterflies, and maybe even a volcano. Is it better to plan things myself (and rent a car) or just go with a tour?

If you want to avoid the hassle, then definitely book a tour. You will have your itinerary planned out and you won’t have to worry about a thing. There are many tour companies in Costa Rica who specialize in the adventure that you are looking for. You should have no problems finding one. You can try the TicosLand.com website. We have some travel agencies listed that can help you find what you are looking for.
