Two of my sons and a buddy of mine go on a 6+ mile hiking trip. We spent the night next to a year round natural creek. Trips like this can really test your endurance and is a good training experience.

Last weekend my son and I went on a day hiking trip. Before we left the truck I got out the Garmin GPS and the topo maps and saved the truck as a waypoint.
We then hiked to a local creek and had lunch with eversafe meals – which are kinda like MREs.
