RE Drinking .. if you want a UK night out put your watch forward 3hrs not 1hr.. no one goes out until at least 10;30, al the good night spots are outside of the town center. no bars play music like the uk.,

The Pyrenees is a great location for walkers. The main cities are Tarbes, Biarritz, Lourdes and Pau. Fantastic mountain scenery, great food. Visit the Pyrenees National Park. Places like Gavarnie with its famous Cirque de Gavarnie and the highest waterfall in Europe – 400+m drop. Spectacular. Or the walks up to mountain lakes like Lac Bleu from the Bagneres de Bigorre side of the Pic du Midi.
I walk and cycle a lot in the Pyrenees and usually rent a house from a site called:

This is a very accessible area. Fly to Toulouse (the largest airport) and hire a car or take the train to the city centres that I mentioned above or fly to the other local airports at Biarritz, Pau or Tarbes/Lourdes. Have a great time.
